ISO 45001:2018 & BizSAFE STAR Certificates Update

Hochiki Asia Pacific is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the ISO 45001:2018 Certificate after being independently assessed and be compliant with the requirements of ISO 45001:2018. With our ISO 45001:2018 Certificate, we have also fulfilled the requirements to obtain the renewal of our bizSAFE STAR Certificate.

The occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, ISO 45001:2018, is a new international standard that provides a framework for an organization to manage risks and opportunities to help prevent work-related injury and ill health to workers.

ISO 45001:2018 is applicable to any organization regardless of its size, type, and activities. It is applicable to the OH&S risks under the organization’s control, considering factors such as the context in which the organization operates and the needs and expectations of its workers and other interested parties.

ISO 45001:2018 can be used in whole or in part to systematically improve occupational health and safety management. ISO 45001:2018 does not address issues such as product safety, property damage, or environmental impacts, behind the risks to workers and other relevant interested parties.

bizSAFE STAR is the highest level of accreditation in the bizSAFE journey, it signifies the organization's achievement of Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Safety and Risk Management Excellence. bizSAFE is a five-step program designed to support the key principles of the WSH Act which are to reduce risks at source, increase industry stakeholders' ownership, and focus on achieving good WSH outcomes and systems rather than complying with the prescriptive requirements.
